Welcome to
Our Family
Creating lifelong memories and growing together as one family.

Dear Au Pair,
We are excited to meet you and welcome you into our family!
We have two boys, Emmett (7) and Oliver (5), who are energetic, curious, and full of personality. They love being silly, asking questions, and exploring the world around them. They enjoy simple things like being outside in nature, riding bikes, and especially reading books. At the core of our family are values of kindness, love, honesty, and generosity.
We have hosted many au pairs over the years, starting when Emmett was just two weeks old, and each one has become a true part of our family. We stay close with them long after their program ends. For us, this is not just childcare, it is a meaningful, long term relationship to become part of our family for life.
We are a multicultural family and deeply value cultural exchange. Summit is Indian, Julie is Caucasian, and our au pairs have been from Latin America. We love learning from each other’s cultures, traditions, and languages, and we want you to share yours openly with us. It is very important to us that you feel happy, supported, and able to grow while you are here. We truly believe that a happy au pair leads to happy children.
Do not worry if your English is not perfect. We will help you improve, just as we have with all of our previous au pairs. There are many universities close to our home, and we will make sure you have the opportunity to study in your schedule. There is also a large Latin American community and many other au pairs nearby, and we will help you build friendships and connections.
Love,
Julie, Summit, Emmett, and Oliver

Our First Trip To
Colombia
Our first trip to Colombia to visit our former au pairs, meet their families, and celebrate their weddings. What started as a cultural exchange became lifelong family.
About Julie & Summit
Summit is a physician at a children’s hospital, and Julie is a pharmacist at a cancer hospital. We both live active, purpose driven lives and value health, learning, and helping others.
We enjoy exercising, spending time outdoors, traveling, and volunteering. One of the most meaningful parts of our lives is giving back. We volunteer at a free medical clinic for Spanish speaking immigrants and participate in medical trips every year to Honduras to help underserved communities.
We travel often, both within the United States and internationally, and we regularly invite our au pairs to join us. We cover all travel expenses. We also often to the lake in the summer to relax all together and spend quality time.

Our Home Is
Love
Our home is love, built on kindness, respect, and honest communication, where you will be supported, included, and truly feel like part of our family from day one.

Our Home and Routines
Our children follow a consistent routine, waking around 7:00 AM and going to bed around 7:30 PM. We value structure, but also encourage creativity, play, and exploration. We have memberships to the pool, science museum, zoo, and library, and we spend a lot of time outdoors.
You will have a strong support system. Our sister’s au pair lives next door, and you will work together as a team, including alternating preparing meals for all four kids. Our current and former au pairs would also be happy to speak with you directly to share their experiences and answer any questions.
We live near the center of the city in Columbus, just a short walk from The Ohio State University, the third largest universities in the United States. Our neighborhood is very walkable, with easy access to parks, trails, restaurants, and shops. There are also nearby colleges, including Columbus State Community College, where you can take English classes that we will pay for.
Our home is newer and located directly next to a large park, with a river and biking, hiking, and running trails right outside. You will have your own bedroom, living room with TV, small kitchen, and private bathroom, but our entire home is to share with you. We also have access to a pool and gym within walking distance.
We provide everything you need to be comfortable, including groceries of your choice, an iPhone with unlimited data, and a car for your personal use. We will pay for driving classes when you arrive. We order groceries online from several different stores, so you do not need to go grocery shopping, and you are welcome to add anything you would like, including meat, fruits, vegetables, and any of your preferred foods. We also have professional house cleaners every week who clean the entire home, including your bedroom and bathroom. Our goal is to support you so you can be happy, healthy, and achieve your personal goals while you are here.

Welcoming You
We are looking for someone who will genuinely care for our children, bring patience and kindness into daily interactions, and contribute positive energy to our home. We value someone who is active, engaged, playful, and wants to be part of a close, supportive family environment.
In return, we provide a structured, well organized home where you will be supported, respected, and included. We actively support your personal and educational goals, including improving your English, taking classes, and we will help pay for English courses. We also encourage and support travel so you can explore new places and make the most of your time in the United States. You will also have an immediate social network, as two other au pairs live next to us with our family members, so you will have close friends from the start.
You will build meaningful relationships, grow personally, and leave with lifelong connections and memories.
We would love to connect with you. Please reach out on WhatsApp at +1 513 349 6474 or email summitshah@gmail.com to introduce yourself.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our family.
